Ryan Jander, M.D.
Contact Us >Dr. Jander believes in a team approach to patient care. This team includes the physician, his staff, and, most importantly, the patient. This collaborative team approach, Dr. Jander feels, is the best way to achieve the patient’s goals. Factors to consider include restoring function, pain relief, improving quality of life, and returning to sports activities. Most orthopaedic injuries when correctly diagnosed can be treated without surgical intervention. When certain conditions necessitate surgery, Dr. Jander has both the experience and specialty training that translate into excellent patient outcomes. Realizing that surgery can be a worrisome experience, Dr. Jander takes the time to answer all of his patients’questions. Thoroughly explaining the process, the expectations, and the time for recovery is the best way, Dr. Jander believes, to make his patients feel comfortable.
With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Jander is double board certified by both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. A graduate of Washington and Lee University, he attended New Jersey Medical School where he earned his M.D. in 2000. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. After residency, Dr. Jander continued his training in hand and upper extremity surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He moved to the Washington D.C. area after training where he has been practicing ever since.
